The east coast of Ko
Mak is about 4 kilometres long.
The biggest part is the long "Aow Nid” (Nid
Bay). It starts north of the small "Aow Thong
Lang” in the southeast and ends behind the "Aow
Pai” at "Laem Kradung" in the northeast.
Further north there are 2 more small bays we unfortunately
don’t know the names.
Opposite of the northwest end of Ko
Mak you’ll find the flat
island, characteristically called "paper island”,
Ko Kradat. |

Some of the beaches at the east coast
of Ko Mak are stony or muddy but there are enough spots
where swimming is suitable. A few small, flat beaches
are located at the northern end where recently a low-budget-resort
was built.
In the middle of Aow Nid you will find the Aow Nid Pier
where the boats to Ko Kood in the south and Trat and Laem
Ngop at the mainland start. |
The beautiful temple with the gigantic
tree in the centre is situated at the little hill, just
a few hundred metres northwest of Aow Nid Pier.
Meanwhile there are a few bungalow resorts and guesthouses
located at the east coast of Ko Mak. But this part of
the island is less frequented than the west or south coast
of Ko Mak. |
