Ko Kham,
the emerald island
in the Gulf of Thailand, is located
approximately 20–25 km kilometre southeast of
Bang Bao Bay at the southernmost end of Ko
Chang, just a few hundred metres
in front of the north-west coast of Ko
Mak - have a look at the map:
just click the Ko Mak logo

The private
island measures about 300 m from
north to south and 200 m from east to west. At the west
coast, mangroves, wild orchids and Thai herbs grow.
At the east coast, facing Ko
Maak, there are 2 small, beautiful,
sandy beaches
with a flat sandbank where you can – depending
to the water level – comfortably sit in the warm
crystal-clear sea.
The turquoise water with innumerable fish in front of
the flat beaches of
Ko Kham invites to swim and snorkel.

Ko
Kham is the only island
of the surroundings where a set of black volcano-rocks
is directly embed into the white
sandy beach. This and the beautiful
beaches, that are situated around
the beautiful garden, make Ko
Kham a popular spot for the tourist
boats coming from Ko
Chang.
On a small path at the southern beach you can reach
a small place where you can watch the beautiful
sunsets. |

Ko
Kham doesn’t have an own
spring, so water has to be delivered by boat from Ko
Maak. There is also no electricity
on the island
but the generator is started in the late afternoon.
Mobil connection to most of the Thai mobile nets is
guaranteed.
Arrival to Ko
Kham and departure:
From November to May there are daily boats starting
from Baan Bang Bao (south of Ko
Chang) to Ko
Kham and back. As the departure
times change quite often please ask on Ko Chang (tickets
are available in almost all travel-agencies). |
At 9.30 am, 11 am, 1.30 pm and 4 pm
speedboats leave the mainland from the Laem Ngop pier
(also called Khrom Luang pier or Tha Khrom Luang). The
boats will bring you either directly to Ko
Kham or to Ko
Mak, where you just have to ask
the local Thais who will give you information how to
get to Ko Kham
easily.
It may happen that the boats can’t go when the
waves are too high - what rarely happens during the
season. |

Because
Ko Kham was sold beginning of 2008
we don't know if it's still possible to visit this wonderful
island.
